Automatic Gain Control
This feature can automatically compensate for changes in voice level, whether you are speaking softly or loudly, turning your head, or moving the microphone further away from your mouth.
Transmit Interrupt Capability
Enables a supervisor to interrupt a DP3661e user to deliver live critical communications exactly when and where it’s needed.
Keep your communications from being intercepted and your channels secure with 16-bit encryption, other enhancements are also available using Digital Privacy and RAS (Restricted Access to System).
DP3661e can help protect those working on their own by regularly prompting the user to press a button on the radio. If the user does not respond within a specified length of time, a supervisor or dispatcher is notified that there may be a problem. A dedicated emergency channel can be utilised with radios automatically selecting this channel during an emergency call.
This uses the integrated accelerometer and automatically sends an alarm signal if the radio handset is tipped over for over a programmable amount of time. The unit also supports the anti-movement feature.
Ability to send pre-set messages via the user menu and side keypad buttons.
DP3661e can be configured to have voice announcements; battery level, channel selection and other functions can have standard or custom voice announcements. E.g. Channel one could now be announced as “Operations Channel” with channel two being “Emergency Channel”, great for users who have poor vision or the environmental condition are poor (night time etc). This feature also enables the radio unit to remain in the case or clipped to a belt during channel selection.

What we think
Jason from the Service Team: “ This is a hard one to comment on, similar to the DP4600 it has a reduced keypad. Design could be improved upon but as usually the engineering is very good. Option for a 3rd party option board makes this radio potentially a very flexible tool, the display is great but loses flexibility with no full keypad. Like the DP3441e performance is very good along with the options and features. I think for majority of users and for similar money I would have opted for the DP4801e with the SL2600 a very close second. Cons – the lower line of buttons (OK and Back) are too low on the case to use safely with one hand, better to redesign the speaker/speaker area to release space lower down.”
